“Trump Declares “Final Battle” in 2024 at First Official Campaign Rally”
In his inaugural campaign rally held in Waco, Texas, former President Donald Trump vowed to fight against accusations made against him and claimed that “2024 will be the ultimate battle” that he will triumph over. Speaking to a lively audience of thousands at the Waco Regional Airport, Trump asserted that the accusations were not directed towards him, but towards his supporters, and that he would stand up for them. Although the rally had been planned earlier, it occurred only a week after Trump’s social media post, where he speculated his arrest, which did not occur. Despite that, the crowd remained enthusiastic in Waco.
Former President Donald Trump, who has been under investigation by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg for alleged falsification of business records in connection to a “hush money” payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels, maintained his innocence at a rally on Saturday. He denied any relationship with Daniels and made a derogatory comment about her appearance, followed by a compliment to his wife, Melania Trump. Trump also criticized the Department of Justice, saying that the investigation against him was “unfair.”
During his nearly 90-minute speech at a rally, former President Donald Trump identified American leaders, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, President Joe Biden, and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, as the “biggest threat” to the United States, not China or Russia. Trump argued that these leaders are more dangerous in many ways because the U.S. can handle China, but not these “sick people.” He also blamed the Biden administration for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin “wanted to get a piece” of Ukraine but will likely end up with the entire country. Trump stated that he could end the war in Ukraine after winning the 2024 election and before taking office.
He criticized Florida Governor Ron DeSantis during his speech, accusing him of not being loyal enough. Trump had endorsed DeSantis in his successful campaigns for governor in 2018 and 2022. According to Trump, DeSantis isn’t doing well in the polls, and he suggested that Florida was successful long before DeSantis became governor.
While some attendees at the rally liked DeSantis, they didn’t want him to challenge Trump in 2024. For example, Judy Campbell, who attended the rally with her husband, Ken, said that she liked DeSantis but wanted him to wait. Ken added that he had liked DeSantis until he started to snipe at Trump. Another attendee, Karrie Olivarez, said that she loved DeSantis but believed that only Trump could get the country back on track.
