Ohio Representative Jim Jordan, a prominent conservative figure, has declared his unequivocal support for former President Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential bid, despite the legal issues Trump faces. Speaking to Fox News Digital before his speech at the National Rifle Association convention, Jordan commended Trump for his accomplishments as president and his determination to fulfill his campaign promises despite resistance from the political establishment.

Jordan emphasized that he was friends with all the current and potential Republican candidates, including Vice President Mike Pence and Governor Ron DeSantis. However, he asserted that he was “100% for President Trump” and believed that no one had demonstrated the ability to get things done like Trump did.

Jordan has been a vocal defender of Trump against charges of felony falsification of business records brought by New York district attorney Alvin Bragg. He has also initiated an inquiry into Bragg’s efforts to target Trump, including subpoenas to provide documents related to the investigation to the House Judiciary Committee.

In addition to expressing his support for Trump, Jordan underscored the importance of winning elections to prevent Democrats from eroding Americans’ Second Amendment rights. He criticized the Democrats’ efforts to chip away at the Second Amendment and argued that their ultimate goal was to eliminate it entirely. Jordan noted that Republicans could not meet Democrats in the middle on gun legislation because the Democrats’ definition of “meeting in the middle” was to take away law-abiding citizens’ firearms.

Jordan emphasized that the tragedies caused by gun violence were terrible, but the solution was not to take firearms away from law-abiding citizens. He called on people with “common sense and logic” to understand that the answer was to protect Americans’ constitutional rights.
